The City of Signal Hill will host two excursions for residents in April— one to a Rennaissance fair and another to a whale-watching event.
A whale-watching trip for seniors 55 and older will take place on Tuesday, April 4. The 2.5-hour tour will depart Long Beach Harbor for the Pacific Ocean in search of blue and gray whales, humpbacks and orcas. Trip participants will leave Signal Hill City Hall, 2175 Cherry Ave., at 11am and return at 3:30pm. The cost is $30 per person for Signal Hill residents and $35 a person for non-residents.
Due to trip timing, lunch will not be provided, but snacks will be available for purchase on board the vessel. Participants are advised to plan accordingly for sea-sickness.
A family-oriented trip to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Irwindale will take place on Saturday, April 29. Trip participants will depart from Signal Hill City Hall at 9:30am and return at 3pm. The cost is is $22 each for adult Signal Hill residents and $10 each for children ages 5 to 12. The cost for non-residents is $27 each for adults and $15 for children 5 to 12. All children under 5 are free.
Lunch is not included, but food will be available for purchase at the event.
