The musical Anything Goes will be performed at the Center Theater/Long Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday, April 4 at 7:30pm and Sunday, April 5 at 2pm. A presentation by the Long Beach Renaissance High School for the Arts, this special performance features a talented cast of young student actors.
Anything Goes is the story of an unusual group of passengers on an American ship sailing from New York to England. A series of comical mistaken identities ensues as the passengers and crew sing and dance their way across the Atlantic. The musical features well loved songs including “Anything Goes” and “I Get a Kick Out of You.”
Established in 2004, the Long Beach Renaissance High School provides a dynamic and innovative education that embraces and integrates arts, academics, and technology with equity of access for promising young performers and artists. Students seeking arts careers can use their creative gifts while engaging in real-life experiences that prepare them for on-stage, front-of-camera, and behind-the-scenes career opportunities. Renaissance High School is a magnet school open to all students in the Long Beach Unified School District.
“The Long Beach Renaissance High School for the Arts is a respected institution whose students will surely entertain the audience with their acting and musical abilities,” said Dan Spellens, director of Theaters and Entertainment for the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. “We are always pleased to offer performances to the community that showcase young talent such as this,” he concluded.
Tickets are on sale now at all TicketMaster outlets, through www.ticketmaster.com, and at the Long Beach Performing Arts Center Main Box Office. Ticket prices are $16 and $8 for students and $20 and $10 for adults. The box office is located at 300 E. Ocean Boulevard and is open from 10am—6pm Monday through Friday and noon—4pm on Saturday.
