The Bixby Knolls Edgar & James, a “curated” Goodwill and the second of its kind, opened its doors at 9am on Friday, July 14. The store now occupies the old Trader Joe’s location at the corner of Cartagena Street and Atlantic Avenue and features farmhouse, urban and industrial clothing styles. The high-end thrift shop features price tags ranging between $5 and $25 and sells quality used clothing and shoes as well as knickknacks, furniture and home décor. Edgar & James hires employees who might have trouble getting jobs, especially workers with a criminal record. These workers are not only the people ringing up and organizing clothes, but they also are behind-the-scenes, sorting through donations and choosing clothes to sell that fit within the E&J theme.
