The Youth Center’s 18th annual tree lot will be open Nov. 25 at the Ganahl Lumber parking lot in Los Alamitos from 9am to 9pm on weekends, and noon to 9pm weekdays.
Customers have a choice of Noble, Nordman, Douglas and Grand Fir trees along with tree stands, watering spouts, wreaths and other festive items.
More than 300 volunteers help with the fundraiser every year. For those who would like to volunteer, there is a mandatory meeting on Nov. 21 at the Youth Center, 10909 Oak St.
Money raised at the tree lot goes to support programs for kids in the community, allowing school groups like PTAs and the Los Alamitos High School sports-booster organizations to earn some funds as well.
The Youth Center’s programs have increased in demand, requiring more staff to help kids and their families, with a higher demand for scholarships.
