At its Dec. 19 meeting, the Long Beach City Council unanimously voted to prepare an ordinance to designate the World Famous VIP Records sign, located at 1014 E. Pacific Coast Hwy., as a Long Beach historical landmark. The sign will also undergo a restoration and be relocated to a permanent site, which has yet to be determined.
