Jazz will fill the air in the Bixby Knolls Expo Building on Sunday, March 15. Some of LA’s finest jazz stars will entertain at a benefit for the Long Beach Shakespeare Company and the Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association— the Ides of March.
Jack Sheldon and The California Cool Quartet, and the Al Williams Jazz Society featuring Barbara Morrison will perform. Helen Borgers from KKJZ will spin “Helen’s Picks” — some of her all-time favorite jazz tracks.
The LA Jazz Institute (lajazzinstitute.org) will share some of its treasures in an exhibit of West Coast Jazz history. Local artists will display their art, and local restaurants will have food and beverages available for sale.
Doors open at 4pm, music begins at 5pm. The Bixby Knolls Expo Building is located at 4321 Atlantic Avenue. Cost of admission is a $15 tax-deductible donation. Advance tickets are available at www.bixbyknollsinfo.com/expo.html or by calling the Richard Goad Theatre at (562) 997-1443.
