The event will take place at the Anatol Center Campus, located on the first floor of the Academic Services Building (AS-119), and will include talks by two literary specialists, Dr. Clarissa Clò and Dr. Nicole Altamirano, and a presentation by art curator Alejandra Menduiña Schneider.
In her lecture, Clò, professor of Italian and president of the Department of European Studies at San Diego State University, will explore Italian women’s fan fiction.
Altamirano, visiting assistant professor of Spanish from Claremont McKenna College, will present the works of three 20th-Century Spanish poetesses: Concha Méndez, Margarita Ferreras and Mercè Rodoreda.
Argentine art curator Schneider will exhibit the itinerant and collective art project Art 4 Non Violence: Celebration of Womanhood, where 40 Latin American artists, selected from the art gallery Menduiña Schneider in San Pedro, will exhibit. The aim of the collection is to show the importance of— and lend a voice to— women through the visual arts.
The event will include a reception after the discussions.
