The Long Beach Branch NAACP had its general membership meeting March 15 at McBride Center, where the organization celebrated the recognition of 2009 NAACP Women of the Year Stella Davis and Alice Robinson. Davis and Robinson were honored for the endeavors of their program Feeding at the Park, during which, out of their own pockets, the two of them work with volunteers to serve a hot, home-cooked lunch to all at Martin Luther King Park once a month.
Additionally, the video Clarence Long: The Man Who Shot Long Beach was shown. Long was present to receive commendation.
