The California Secretary of State’s office has released a series of videos in American Sign Language with information about the five propositions on the June 5, 2018 Statewide Direct Primary ballot.
“We strive to ensure all California voters can make informed decisions when casting their ballots,” Secretary of State Alex Padilla said. “Providing election information in American Sign Language is another step we are taking to expand access to elections. These videos will provide the deaf and hard of hearing community with important nonpartisan information and analysis of the ballot measures on the June ballot.”
The American Sign Language videos include a summary of the measure, what a yes or no vote means, the fiscal impact and the pro and con arguments submitted by campaigns for and against each proposition on the June 5 ballot.
The official Statewide Voter Information Guide is available online at voterguide.sos.ca.gov, and the video is available at voterguide.sos.ca.gov/asl.
