LBPD DUI checkpoint yields total of 1271 vehicles, screens 329 drivers

The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) Traffic Section conducted a DUI/driver-license checkpoint on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 7th Street and Locust Avenue between 6pm and 2am.
Last Saturday’s eight-hour checkpoint yielded the following results:
• 1271 vehicles went through the checkpoint
• 329 drivers were screened
• One driver was arrested, per an unrelated warrant
• Three drivers were cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended or revoked license
• One driver was cited for being unlicensed
• Three citations were issued for unsafe driving
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
