On Tuesday, August 4, the Signal Hill Police Department will be hosting its sixth National Night Out at Reservoir Park from 5pm to 8pm. National Night Out is an event that is celebrated nationwide, with a focus on unifying the community with an ultimate goal of crime prevention. The event is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.
Some of the activities during the evening will include: a balloon artist, a face painter, a craft maker, a jump house, a DJ with popular music, a barbeque, a raffle, and a dunk tank that provides the opportunity to dunk the chief of police and other officers. There will also be numerous businesses and organizations from the community providing free items and information. Children will also have the opportunity to tour the Signal Hill Police Department mobile command vehicle and a Los Angeles County fire engine.
Reservoir Park is located just south of Wardlow Road, between Orange and Walnut avenues. Free parking will be available at Burroughs Elementary School. The parking entrance is located off 33rd Street at Gundry Avenue.
