Follow the Greek music to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church Grounds in Long Beach for the 60th Annual Greek Festival this September 5-7 from 12-9pm. Festival attendees will be regaled with dancing, entertainment and a variety of classic Greek fare.
The festivities will include live music, Greek dancers in traditional costume, Greek dancing lessons and Greek cooking demos. Kids will enjoy carnival rides and game booths. In addition, the talented “Neitzel Family” will appear in person on Sunday from 3-6pm to sign autographs and mix with the crowd.
Taste buds can savor a variety of Greek food and pastries, including tyropitas (cheese-filled triangles), spanakopitas (spinach pie), Greek BBQ chicken, pork souvlaki, loukamades (fritters in honey and cinnamon) and baklava.
Proceeds from this event benefit Assumption Church Ministries and Outreach Programs.
The Assumption Greek Orthodox Church is located at 5761 E. Colorado Street. Participants can park for free at Cal State Long Beach Parking Lots 6 and 7 (off of Seventh Street) and take a free shuttle to the event.
