New officers elected to St. Mary’s board

Clinical psychologist Jana Martin, Ph.D. has been elected for a two-year term as the chairman of the St. Mary Medical Center Board of Trustees. Also elected were new officers: Terry Geiling, owner/operator of Professional Business Services, as vice chair; and Ivy Goolsby, director of International Realty and Investments, as secretary.
Newly elected members to the St. Mary Hospital Board are: Garrett Ashley, CSU vice chancellor; Marilyn Bittle, community leader and retired elementary school teacher; Peter J. Gravett, major general in Army National Guard and LAPD (retired); Ted R. Matt, founder and life coach of Forward Motion Professional Services; Ken Portalan, assistant chief of operations, Long Beach Fire Department; Naomi Rainey, CSU Long Beach consultant and president of the Long Beach Branch NAACP; Wayne C. Slavitt, vice chairman and CEO of Allmark, Inc.; Todd Turley, community philanthropist and realtor; and Don Wylie, senior vice president, General Stevedoring Division of Ports America.
As ambassadors to the civic and business community, board members serve a three-year term and share their insights and leadership skills with hospital administrators and staff.
