Council introducing partner program to help promote arts-friendly businesses

The Arts Council for Long Beach has developed a new program for GLOBAL (Greater Long Beach Arts Lab), its inaugural citywide celebration of National Arts and Humanities Month every October.
The Partner Program integrates arts-friendly businesses, organizations and artists in GLOBAL’s website, print materials, television commercial and online promotions. Partners can join GLOBAL for free using downloadable documents and online forms.
“GLOBAL is a new movement that celebrates the arts in October, and we want everyone involved,” said Craig Watson, executive director of the Arts Council. “Our Partner Program integrates many people at no cost to them, and the online forms are easy to use.”
In the Partner Program, partners can: add arts- and humanities-related events to the GLOBAL calendar; add video clips to the GLOBAL 2009 30-second television commercial; add banner images to the GLOBAL website; request brochures; find local artists; and much more.
In September, the Arts Council will launch GLOBAL’s regional campaign for Long Beach’s arts and humanities events running through October. The campaign will feature a new website, downloadable event itineraries, discount packages and more.
“Earlier this summer, we surveyed arts organizations and asked how the Arts Council can help make their events a success,” said Watson. “Ninety-five percent of responses asked for more promotion or help connecting with other organizations. This Partner Program is a response to that, and is one of our first steps toward a new movement in arts celebration.”
