PART-TIME LEGISLATURE?
The Long Beach Republican Women Federated will feature Gabriella Holt, president/CEO of Citizens for California Reform, at their next meeting on Saturday, Oct. 10. Holt will speak about a state Constitutional amendment initiative to return California to a part-time legislature. The Long Beach Police Foundation will be hosting a farewell celebration in honor of Long Beach Police Chief Anthony W. Batts on Friday, Oct. 16 at the Aquarium of the Pacific, 100 Aquarium Way, and the community is welcome to attend. After 27 years of service to the Long Beach Police Department and the city of Long Beach, Batts has accepted the position of chief of police for the Oakland Police Department. Reception at 6:30pm and dinner at 7:30pm.
