Children’s Clinic celebrating 70th anniversary with event at MoLAA

The Children’s Clinic, Serving Children and Their Families (TCC) will host a celebration, in honor of its 70th anniversary, at the Museum of Latin American Art on Sunday, October 25. The celebration will begin at 5pm with a reception, live and silent auctions, and dinner at 6pm.
The Children’s Clinic will honor several community leaders who have made significant contributions to the success and accomplishments of the Clinic, including: Long Beach Memorial Medical Center; Miller Children’s Hospital; Memorial Health Services; Song Tan, M.D.; Miller Children’s Hospital; The Vasek and Anna Maria Polak Charitable Foundation, Inc.; and Long Beach Unified School District.
The co-chairs for this event are Long Beach First Lady Nancy Foster and Lynne Pillsbury.
The Children’s Clinic was founded in 1939 by a group of physicians and community leaders who were concerned about the lack of health services for children whose parents could not afford private medical insurance. Throughout its 70 years of service, The Children’s Clinic has devoted itself to carrying out its mission “to partner with parents and the community to provide quality healthcare services and health education and promotion to needy children and families.” Today the Children’s Clinic is an independent nonprofit system of six licensed community health centers in the greater Long Beach area and continues to grow and expand its programs and services to better serve children and their families in the Long Beach community.
