Last week Longfellow Elementary School PTA sponsored its annual Jog-A-Thon to promote the importance of health and exercise and to raise funding for important school needs. The funds raised through this year’s Jog-A-Thon will go to modernize the schools computer lab.
Many students at Longfellow do not have access to a personal computer; this modernized computer lab will help the students at Longfellow to meet the challenges of the future.
And for some, give them first time exposure to vital technology, essential in today’s schools and work places.
More than 800 students participated by grade level, from kindergarten to fifth, to the spirited music of DJ Kevin Comstock of Laugh-Line Productions, who donated his time to spin tunes and provide enthusiastic inspiration.
With $15,000 raised so far, the PTA and students are well on their way to reaching their $40,000 goal.
