Fall Harvest festival celebrates local farming

BeachGreens, a Long Beach company that delivers organic and sustainably grown produce directly from local Southern California farmers to homes and workplaces, will sponsor a Fall Harvest festival Thursday, Nov. 19 from 3pm to 6pm at The Growing Experience, 750 Via Carmelitos.
Participants can snack on farm-fresh food and beverages prepared by local chefs, build scarecrows, tour a farm, hear live music, take part in a scavenger hunt and attend a seed-planting workshop.
“The Harvest Festival in North Long Beach offers just a taste of what is possible,” said Aliye Aydin of BeachGreens. “People want to know where their food comes from, how it’s grown, and how they can begin growing their own or moving their purchases to local growers. The festival is a fun and accessible way we can share ideas, resources, and great food.”
Beachgreens (BeachGreens.com), founded in 2007 by Long Beach native Aliye Aydin, delivers locally and organically grown produce from farm to fork. Members receive regularly scheduled deliveries of first-pick produce, seasonal recipes, as well as special offers like member-only cooking classes.
