Long Beach reached a milestone last week with more than half a million tests for COVID-19 administered in the city since the pandemic began, according to a press release from the City.
As of Dec. 31, over 502,465 people have been tested in Long Beach at sites run by the Health Department, the State of California and at private labs.
They have continued to urge the importance of testing people for COVID-19, including those who have no symptoms. A positive test enables people to isolate themselves, reduce the spread and get treatment.
The City urges to anyone who suspects that they have been exposed to COVID-19, to contact their personal healthcare provider first, if they have one.
