Want to make a difference in a big way, become physically fit, build friendships and create habitat? Then the Habitat Stewards Volunteer Training at El Dorado Nature Center is for you.
The Department of Parks, Recreation & Marine is offering you an opportunity to get involved in keeping El Dorado Nature Center beautiful and ensure that it remains a healthy habitat for wildlife.
The nature center offers a training program to help you gain the skills necessary to plant and care for California native plants and ensure that it remains a healthy habitat for all.
The training program will teach you the basics, and monthly meetings and work parties will give you opportunities to sharpen your skills, make new friends and meet experts in the field of native plant horticulture. Participants must attend all five training sessions. Cost of the training is $40.
Habitat stewards volunteer training classes meet on Saturdays, Aug. 18, 25, Sept. 8, and Sunday Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. until noon; and on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Nature Center, located at 7550 East Spring Street.
