Broadway in the Park takes place Saturday

Musical Theatre West’s annual fundraiser “Broadway in the Park” will be held Saturday, Aug. 4 in three magnificent homes in the gorgeous Park Estates neighborhood of Long Beach.
MTW hopes to raise $100,000 to benefit programs including the Youth Cultural Enrichment Program, which reaches more than 15,000 young people each year, introducing them to the magic and excitement of live theater through special daytime performances and visits to the classroom.
“Broadway in the Park,” now in its ninth year, has become one of Long Beach’s most popular fundraisers, with more than 500 people attending last year’s event. The three host homes will feature previews of the 2007-2008 “Emerald Anniversary” Season productions of The Pajama Game, All Shook Up, The Andrews Brothers and The Wizard Of Oz, as well as a preview of the Summer Youth Conservatory production of Disney’s High School Musical. The evening will also include dining, a silent auction of more than 200 items, a live auction and wonderful entertainment under the stars.
VIP tickets for “Broadway in the Park,” which include a private cocktail party and valet parking, are available for $225. General admission tickets are available for $175. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Musical Theatre West box office at (562) 856-1999 or visiting the box office at 4350 East Seventh Street in Long Beach.
