Teachers, parents, grandparents and students are invited to attend a “Back to School Tech Fair and E-Waste Collection” on Saturday, August 25 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the El Dorado Senior Center Community Room located at 2800 Studebaker Road.
The tech fair will feature computer and internet specialists from Circuit City, Charter Communications and Verizon who will present brief discussions on such topics as: how to choose the right computer system, getting connected with the Internet and home networking. They will also bring computer packages that will be offered at a discount for attendees.
Speakers from the Long Beach Police Department will present tips for parents on how to keep kids safe on the Internet. Antonio De La Luz from the Teachers Association of Long Beach will give a special presentation for teachers who will demonstrate online resources for teachers.
Goodwill Industries will collect e-waste.
