The Long Beach Health and Human Services Department will continue its vaccine incentive program this week with raffles for a $50 giftcard or a two-night stay at a nearby hotel.
Those who receive their first shot by Saturday, June 12 will be entered into the department’s daily raffle for the prizes. Raffle winners can choose between a Fandango, Target or Walmart gift card or a stay at Long Beach Marriott, The Westin Long Beach or the Golden Sails Hotel. Winners can only choose one prize.
Anyone who receives the first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine at any City-ran vaccination site will be entered into the drawing for prizes.
Winners who are under 18 will need consent from their parents or guardian to claim their prize.

Vaccine appointments are not necessary but can be made on the State’s online portal MyTurn.ca.gov, or by calling the California COVID-19 Hotline at 833.422.4255.
The State of California is also automatically enrolling Californians who have received at least one dose in a vaccine incentive program where they can win cash prizes of up to $1.5 million.
The rate of vaccine appointments has doubled since the State’s vaccine incentive program began last month. Previous prizes offered have included tickets to the Aquarium of the Pacific, Nintendo Switches, Apple Airpods and more.
The City said in a statement that it is looking for additional ways to encourage residents to take measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as California gets ready to reopen on June 15.
