11 new mobile vaccine clinics in Long Beach

The City of Long Beach is offering 11 new mobile vaccine clinics throughout July in an effort to increase vaccine accessibility for the public. Many of the City’s regular vaccination sites will remain in place.

The Long Beach Convention Center will offer walk-up COVID-19 vaccines throughout July but will halt its drive-thru vaccination service on July 17.

“We are continuing to see our vaccination numbers grow,” Mayor Robert Garcia said in a statement. “These expanded clinic options will help make vaccines more accessible to everyone.”

The move comes just three days after the first instance of the highly transmissible Delta variant was identified in Long Beach.

The Delta variant is expected to become the dominant variant in the United States within weeks, the Long Beach Health Department said.
