Long Beach City College (LBCC) and The Historical Society of Long Beach (HSLB) will present the first Long Beach Community Studies Conference on Saturday, Sept. 11.
The conference will be divided into four sessions, and each session will offer four different panels from which to choose. Each panel consists of multiple speakers presenting their related research. There are more than 50 speakers and topics ranging from film and media to historic preservation & resources. The partial list of program topics includes:

• From Spa Resorts to Beauty Elixers, The City’s Place in the Early 20th Century Health Culture

Registration and check-in begin at 8am. Opening reception begins at 8:30am in the HSLB North Gallery, 4260 Atlantic Ave. Attendees can register in advance or at the door. Admission cost is: free for LBCC students, $5 for all other students, $25 for HSLB members, and $30 general admission.
