Miller Hospital’s Steel Magnolias honor award recipients at gala

The Steel Magnolias of the Geraldine Stramski Developmental Center at Miller Children’s Hospital is hosting its 8th Annual Gala and Auction Saturday at the Long Beach Hyatt Regency, located at 200 South Pine Avenue in Long Beach.
This year’s gala will honor the recipients of the many awards given by the center. The Steel Magnolia Community Award is to be presented to Irv Miller, Stephanie and Steve Salyer and the Autrey family. Bancap is to receive the Corporate Award, and the Geraldine A. Stramski Steel Magnolia Spirit and Dedication Award will be given to the Cleft/Craniofacial team at the Stramski Development Center.
The Steel Magnolias was founded in 1999 as the support group for the Stramski Developmental Center. The center provides treatment to children from birth to 21 years of age with physical, developmental and behavioral challenges.
The Center is the primary provider of services linking children and their families to physician specialists, community agencies and Miller Children’s Hospital.
The cost of attending the black-tie event is $175 per person and all the proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Stramski Center at Miller Children’s Hospital.
