The Long Beach Green Schools Campaign will be hosting a Valentine’s Day-themed craft-making session outside the Long Beach Unified School District board meeting on Feb. 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The public is invited to make Valentine’s crafts that express their “love for clean energy and the earth.”
The Long Beach Green Schools Campaign’s goal is for LBUSD to transition to using only renewable energy by 2030.
The crafts will be presented to the school board during their meeting as part of the campaign.
The Long Beach Green Schools Campaign is also asking LBUSD students between the ages of 6 and 14, as well as their parents, to make public comments in favor of transitioning the school district to renewable energy.
Members of the campaign will reach out to explain the process of giving public comment and planning a speech to those who sign up on its online form.
The event is targeted towards younger LBUSD students and their parents, but Long Beach residents in general are invited to attend.
The Long Beach Green Schools Campaign will host its Valentine’s-themed craft-making session on Feb. 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the LBUSD District Administration Building, located at 1515 Hughes Way. Those interested can register on the campaign’s online form.
