Fluor Corporation gave back to the children of Long Beach last Thursday by distributing backpacks to the Eastman Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach, located at 700 East Del Amo Boulevard of Long Beach.
The event is part of Fluor’s 7th Annual Global Building Futures Project and an effort by Fluor’s Community Involvement Team to solicit global participation from Fluor offices around the world, helping underprivileged children go back to school in style by providing them with new backpacks stuffed with school supplies donated by employees.
Nearly 12,000 backpacks have been distributed worldwide and 620 backpacks were distributed to the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach. Inside the backpacks, children were given spiral-bound notebooks, planners, mechanical pencils, pens, highlighters, glue sticks, and three ring binders. The backpacks have been divided and supplies arranged by age and grade of the children ranging from 6 years to high school.
Fluor’s California offices are located in Long Beach, Aliso Viejo, Irvine and has 30 locations worldwide.
