Emblem officers honored

emblem-club.jpgThe officers of the California Nevada Hawaii State Association of Emblem Clubs and its new president, Anita Dunlap, were honored at the Long Beach Emblem Club #106’s annual Children’s Charity Luncheon on Aug. 25.
The event is conveniently named the “All Occasion Luncheon” because members decorate tables to represent special occasions. This year included Christmas Day, Saturday Night Football and Chinese New Year. The event took place at the Bellflower/ Long Beach Elks Lodge in Bellflower and club members provided a buffet.
Chair for the Day Mary Lou Clinton introduced President Maggie Beck, who welcomed the guests, who included several past state presidents including Pamela Stein and Betty Banks.
All proceeds from the luncheon went to the fund which provides donations the club gives to local children’s support groups such as the Long Beach Children’s Dental Clinic, the Fairview Hospital Developmental Center, the Boys Club, Girls Club and both Boy and Girl Scout groups.
