A humane society?

Your piece on the new “technology to locate those with cognitive disorders” made me want to cry. I am a senior, and I can remember the names we gave the unfortunate with mental problems or birth defects years ago. This humane system of locating these unfortunate people when they are “lost” is really a leg up on improving the quality of man in our time. Even the label “cognitive disorders” shows we have improved the love we lost at one time for our fellow man.
Now, if we could just extend that humanity to all living things, wouldn’t this be a wonderful world for certain? No dog, cock, bear, bull or any living creature fighting for the “pleasure” of humans would be a good start. In addition, the possibility of humans never again fighting humans would be a dream come true but, unfortunately, just that— a dream.
