The Long Beach Public Library Foundation’s Grape Expectations Auction is officially open. The auction offers bidders the opportunity to win some unique items and one-of-a-kind experiences while supporting efforts to promote literacy, education and the joy of reading.
The online portion of the auction will run until Thursday, June 21, with the live event to take place Tuesday, June 24. Proceeds will go to the Long Beach Public Library Foundation in order to support supplemental programs that assist the Long Beach Public Library in promoting literacy and meeting the educational and informational needs of its culturally diverse community.
Auction items range from exotic vacation getaways to donated items guaranteed to delight and surprise. At least one new item each day will be offered. Supporters are encouraged to make the auction part of their daily routine in the coming weeks so they can enjoy a peek at the latest items, as well as monitor the bidding activity of their favorite picks.
The auction was made possible by donations that came from various local businesses and individuals. Among the donors were TGIS Catering in Long Beach and The Wine Country in Signal Hill who came together to create the package Mini-Grape Expectations for Eight, an exquisitely prepared dinner prepared at home for a party of eight. The winner of this prize, along with seven guests, will also enjoy expertly chosen wines.
Other prizes include a pair of premium tickets to a Sunday, June 3 performance of “Luisa Fernanda” starring Placido Domingo at the Los Angeles Opera, or a catered gourmet dinner for 10 prepared by Chef William Hall at Keesal, Young Logan, which also includes wine.
Whether it’s a personal treat or gift for a special someone, the auction catalog offers a wide range of things to choose from. The entire catalog can be found online at www.lbplf.cmarket.com.
