The Braille Institute is now offering free classes to teach people how to maintain independence despite loss of vision.
On Mondays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., classes will take place at the American Goldstar Manor, located at 3021 North Goldstar Drive in Long Beach. Participants will learn new ways of doing daily tasks such as managing the home, using visual aids to maximize remaining vision and how to receive talking books and other free services through the Braille Institute Library.
Braille Institute is a private, nonprofit organization whose mission is to eliminate blindness and severe sight loss as a barrier to a fulfilling life.
