The Long Beach Playhouse, 5021 E. Anaheim St., is presenting the family-friendly classic melodrama The Plight Before Christmas now through Sunday, Dec. 26. Ebeneezer Humbug is about to “raise the dickens” by foreclosing on everyone in town and forcing Felicity Fuzziwig to marry him— much to the dismay of his clerk, Bob Scratchit.
“Boo the villain! Cheer the hero! Sigh for the lovely heroine. Good triumphs over evil,” says director Dale Jones. “This is theatre stripped to the basic emotions of love, hate, fear, anger, remorse and revenge.”
On Thursday, Dec. 23, $8 children/student tickets will be available with each paid adult or senior ticket, valid for kids in kindergarten through high school. Regular ticket prices are $22 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $12 for students. Tickets are available at lbplayhouse.org or by calling (562) 494-1014, option 1.
