Pacific Community Credit Union has announced the creation of a scholarship program that will provide funds to both graduating high school seniors planning on attending an accredited college or trade school, as well as to students who have successfully completed their first year of higher education.
Each award of $750 is to be used towards tuition, books and/or student fees. Each year two applicants will each receive a $750 stipend based on academic standing, community service, letter of recommendation and an essay regarding the significance of financial security and knowledge and how the students are able to meet their financial goals.
Scholarship applications are due on January 15, 2008 and winners will be announced at the Pacific Community Annual Meeting in March. Also, Pacific Community Credit Union will travel to the schools of the winners to recognize them for their achievements.
