The free micro-transit shuttle rides approved by the Long Beach city council won’t be in service until mid to late October, but don’t let that stop you from walking, riding or driving (if you must) to some of the wonderful and free events in Signal Hill and Long Beach.
This week brings the opportunity to expand your interests: pick up some action shot photography skills at the Michelle Obama Neighborhood Library, explore the connection between art and philosophy at the Hellada Art Center or learn how to craft glass gem luminaries at the Signal Hill Public Library.
Residents interested in expanding their bellies rather than their minds can receive free groceries at Fairbanks Ave on Friday, mix local food trucks with handcrafted tequila at Roxanne’s bar on Sunday or support small business at the street fair/farmers market on Thursday.
