The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) announced Nov. 1 that it has been awarded a grant of over $2.5 million by the Perenchio Foundation.

“This grant acknowledges the work MOLAA has been doing for the past 26 years to share Latin American and Latinx art and provide support for our community,” said Lourdes Ramos-Rivas, President and CEO of MOLAA, in a statement.

The Multi-Year Operating Support Grant will be paid out to the museum over the next three years. The funds will go towards increasing the museum’s capacity, day-to-day expenses, organizational learning and for hiring more staff.

The Perenchio Foundation was founded by the late A. Jerrold “Jerry” Perenchio to support the arts in Los Angeles County. The foundation provides grants to small and medium-sized organizations that provide arts programming for the public.

“The Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) is deeply honored and appreciative of the grant awarded by the Perenchio Foundation that allows MOLAA […] to continue offering exhibition and education programming of the highest quality to the Los Angeles County community and all our visitors,” Ramos-Rivas said in a statement.

MOLAA, located at 628 Alamitos Ave., is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. General admission costs $15 Wednesdays through Saturdays and is free on Sundays.
