The Travis Blue Foundation for the Arts, in conjunction with Tomas Viska, will host a collaborative artists premiere with an opening gala at the Underground Salon in Long Beach entitled Über. The engagement launches a special two-month showing to raise funds for a Southern California based fine arts program for developmentally disabled adults called Hope University.
Local and renowned artists Travis Blue, Michele Vavonese and Mariana Milgram will showcase their works at the exhibit, displaying abstract imagery that captures mood, shape and everyday environments in an evocative manner.
“Within this era of mass- produced images, these original and heartfelt pieces are authored by people who care,” said TBFA representative Constance Orange. “This extends our community. These paintings beckon the viewing audience to stop, think and feel.”
Hope University’s mission is to “train the talent and diminish the disability” through creative-arts therapy. Students at Hope are immersed in full-time arts education, including visual arts, music, dance, drama and writing. The Anaheim organization will be the beneficiary through silent auction and donation opportunities throughout the showing.
“As an art lover and collector myself, I’m proud to exhibit the talents of these artists,” said Underground Salon owner and co-host Tomas Viska. “These are fingerprints from artists, who have invested lots of time and effort.”
The Underground Salon is located at 2172 Bellflower Boulevard in Long Beach. For further information, contact Constance Orange by calling (562) 688-9569.
