Margo Folwick, daughter of Roger and Suzanne Folwick of Signal Hill, has been selected for the 2011 American High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall on Saturday, Feb. 19. She will be a flutist in the Honors Band, which is limited to the highest-rated high school performers from across North America.
Margo, a sophomore at Orange County High School of the Arts (OCHSA), auditioned this fall for the Honors Performance Series and was accepted after a review by the selection board committee. She will join other performers from the United States and Canada for the performance.
Margo is a member of the OCHSA Symphony Orchestra and Fennell Wind Ensemble. She is also a member of the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra, which will be touring Bulgaria this summer.
The Honors Performance Series was created to showcase accomplished individual high-school performers by allowing them to study under master conductors and perform in the celebrated Carnegie Hall.
