The United Cambodian Community (UCC) of Long Beach is raising funds for a local business that had its windows shattered two weeks ago.
Sophie Meas, owner of Sophie’s Beauty Salon in Cambodia Town, arrived at her business on the morning of July 20 to find multiple windows were shattered.
Police were dispatched at approximately 9:11 a.m. on July 20 to the business and took a report. The Long Beach Police Department said no information about the suspect or motive was available, and that the vandalism was still being investigated.
A GoFundMe campaign was created by UCC the day after the vandalism occurred, but has not raised any money yet.
“As a tight-knit community, we can make a difference,” reads the online page for the GoFundMe campaign. “Sophie’s salon has been a haven for all, reflecting her warm spirit and dedication. Now, let’s rally together and show her our unwavering support.”
