The Aug. 18 issue of the Signal Tribune will recognize an often overlooked artform: the craft of writing.
To celebrate our Art of Writing issue, we’d like to invite the community to share their poems, short stories, soliloquies, letters, diary entries, essays; whatever form of writing you prefer.
We believe talented writers are all around us, from birthday card poets to email aficionados and fan fiction authors. Many people choose to keep this side of themselves hidden, or have trouble finding a place to publish their work.
Along with stories highlighting local authors, bookstores and magazines, we want to give local writers the chance to see their work in print.
Writers can send in their work under their own name with a short introduction about themselves, or under a pseudonym. We’ll do our best to publish each entry in print and online.
Submissions can fall under any theme, be old or new, short or long, but the Signal Tribune will not publish entries that contain racist, homophobic, sexist or any kind of discriminatory or hateful language.
If you would like to see your work published in our writer’s issue, send an entry to Newspaper@SignalTribune.com by Aug. 15.
In the subject line write AUTHOR’S ISSUE and please clarify if you would like your name, neighborhood and a short biography to be published along with your work. Our team will try to respond to entries within a day.
