
A Voice for Long Beach Children, a volunteer advocacy group for children’s issues, announced this week that Carrie Bryant and the El Dorado Nature Center are the recipients of its 2011 awards for outstanding leadership and service to children and families.
The annual awards will be presented as part of the 8th Annual Early Childhood Education Symposium Saturday March 12 at Houssels Forum, Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, from 8am to noon.
Carrie Bryant is the owner and founder of Creative Arts Preschool in central Long Beach.
Since the early 1970s, she has provided innovative and creative learning opportunities for young children and served in numerous community leadership positions.
The El Dorado Nature Center, which is part of Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine Department, occupies 100 acres of woodland as part of El Dorado Regional Park. It offers a variety of healthy, enriching outdoor experiences, including nature trails, program activities and wildlife museum for children and families.
