The City of Signal Hill is gearing up for its inaugural Cultural Festival on Sept. 23 at Signal Hill Park, which will celebrate cultural diversity and unity.
The Diversity Coalition Committee planned this event with the support of the City Council, said committee member Samona Caldwell.
The Cultural Festival’s goal is to bring the community together to embrace and appreciate differences while enjoying a day of entertainment and activities.
The festival’s lineup includes a diverse range of performers, including R&B and hip-hop musician “The Real Mr. Clark,” the Cambodian Royal Ballet dancers, Spanish flamenco dancers, Hawaiian ukulele performances, African drumming and more.
In addition to the performances, attendees can participate in Zumba and line dancing for a fun and healthy experience. Children’s activities will include face painting, a bouncy house, and art and crafts.
For those looking to satisfy their taste buds, the festival will have food trucks on-site offering a variety of options, including Cuban food and Thai food.
The Signal Hill Cultural Festival also aims to connect the community with important resources. Representatives from the city and state, as well as local community organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach, will be present to provide information about their services and activities, Caldwell said.
The Signal Hill Cultural Festival will be held on Sept. 23 at Signal Hill Park (2175 Cherry Ave.) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
