A free lecture entitled “A Slug’s Life” will be presented by CSU Los Angeles Professor Patrick Krug Friday, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium’s John M. Olguin Auditorium.
Found in most every color, the sea creatures are carnivores closely related to snails. They all travel slowly on one foot and most lack a protective shell, leaving their soft bodies vulnerable. To avoid being eaten, some sea slugs take advantage of their mottled colors to hide against rocks and kelp while others shoot a purple ink to scare their enemies.
“A Slug’s Life” is one in a series hosted by Cabrillo Marine Aquarium (CMA) and funded through an award from the Munson Aquatic Conversation Exhibitry (M.A.C.E.) Foundations to CMA for its outstanding exhibits in both the Aquatic Nursery and Exploration Center.
