Adventurers take to the sea for whale watching tours

whale-surfacing.jpgThe public is invited to embark on a ocean adventure through the Aquarium of the Pacific’s educational Whale Watch. Whales, dolphins, seals, and birds of all kinds make incredible journeys along the California coast, ranging from a few hundred miles to many thousands.
Adventurers will explore the nearby seas aboard Harbor Breeze Cruises to seek out such travelers as the gray whale, bottlenose dolphin, sea lion, and a host of migratory waterfowl. The ocean adventure will include an educational presentation by an Aquarium marine naturalist and various hands-on learning activities for children of all ages.
On board the boat, guests will have the opportunity to learn more about whales as they explore the Aquarium’s whale artifacts, such as different types of whale bones and baleen. Included in the Whale Watch price, is admission to the Aquarium of the Pacific. In addition to their whale cruise, guests can visit over 12,500 other Pacific animals by exploring the Aquarium.
Boat tours depart daily now through May 31 at noon and 3 p.m. except during the Grand Prix April 18-20.
Tickets, which include admission to the Aquarium, cost $39.95 for adults (age 12 and over), $28.95 for children (age 3 through 11), and $36.95 for seniors (ages 62 and over). Discounted prices are available for Aquarium members.
The Aquarium of the Pacific is located at 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach. The boat leaves out of Rainbow Harbor, adjacent to the Aquarium.
