Andrews's office to host 10th annual free Thanksgiving banquet

Sixth District Councilmember Dee Andrews will host the 10th Annual “Serving with a Thankful Heart” Thanksgiving banquet on Monday, Nov. 20, at Ernest S. McBride Park, 1550 Martin Luther King, Jr., Ave.
Lunch will be served from 11:30am to 2pm, and dinner will be served from 5pm to 7:30pm.
Andrews’s office is partnering with numerous entities, including: Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau; Long Beach Hilton; Renaissance Hotel; Hyatt; Maya Hotel; Westin Hotel; Courtyard Marriott; Holiday Inn; and Queen Mary. Honorary guest servers include: City Manager Patrick West; Economic and Property Development Director John Keisler; Parks, Recreation & Marine Director Marie Knight; and Long Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau President Steve Goodling.
“I cannot believe it has been 10 years,” Andrews said. “I am honored to continue this Thanksgiving tradition for my district and the Long Beach community. This would not be possible without the assistance of devoted partners, enthused about giving back, so I am very grateful for their generosity. I hope to see all of the 6th District attending this wonderful event.”
Goodling said that each year the Convention & Visitors Bureau’s staff and members are proud to support the event.
“We believe in being involved in the well-being of the community we work in, and ‘Serving with a Thankful Heart’ lets us show our neighbors that we care,” he said.
Although the event is free, attendees must RSVP before Monday, Nov.20 via e-mail at district6@longbeach.gov or by calling (562) 570-6816.
