Each year, a Signal Hill resident is recognized at the Los Angeles County’s Older American Recognition Day event for their outstanding volunteer services to the community. Residents are encouraged to nominate someone in the community who they feel best exemplifies the honor.
Nominees must meet the following criteria to be considered:
A resident of Signal Hill
Over the age of 60 years
Has not previously received the award
Is actively involved in volunteer service which directly benefits the community
Those who would like to nominate a worthy volunteer should call the Signal Hill Community Services Department at (562) 989-7330 to request a nomination form. All forms must be received no later than February 26.
