A man suspected of committing several armed robberies in multiple cities in Los Angeles and Orange counties was arrested in Long Beach yesterday.
The man was suspected of committing a string of at least seven armed robberies in Norwalk, Whittier, Long Beach, Downey, La Palma, Buena Park, Irvine and Costa Mesa over a 10-day period, according to Deputy Shawn Du Busky of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
The man was stopped in his vehicle by Long Beach Police Department officers Thursday and arrested without incident. During the arrest, police recovered a loaded handgun they believed to have been the weapon used in the robberies.
The man, whose name was not released, was booked into jail on suspicion of the seven armed robberies and his bail was set at $200,000, Du Busky said.
He is set to appear at the Norwalk Courthouse on Monday.
