On Saturday, July 17, Animal Care Services will provide animal owners with the opportunity to microchip their cats and dogs for $20 (including registration). Other services offered will be $20 dog licenses (for altered animals) and $90 dog licenses (for unaltered animals). Currently, there is no fee for cat licensing. The Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine will host DanceFest 2010 on Sunday, July 18, beginning at 4pm at the Center Theater in the Long Beach Performing Arts Center, 300 E. Ocean Blvd. DanceFest is an annual showcase of the diverse performing ensembles currently in residence at the award-winning Homeland Cultural Center. Long Beach residents are invited to meet Josef Levy, the newly appointed Commander of the Long Beach Police Department’s West Division, on Tuesday, July 20 from 5pm to 6:30pm at the Mark Twain Neighborhood Library Community Room, 1401 E. On the third Wednesday each month, the community is invited to meet for a meal at one of Wrigley’s eating establishments. Called Taste of Wrigley, the next dining event will be at Pho Long Beach, 511 West Willow St., on Wednesday, July 21 at 6:30pm. The dinner starts at 6:30pm.

The next dinner for the Bixby Knolls Supper Club will take place at The Factory Gastrobar, 4020 Atlantic Ave., on Monday, Aug. 2. First seating will be at 5:30pm, second seating at 7pm.
