Community Health Lecture
The Todd Cancer Institute is hosting a community lecture tonight from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The lecture “Vitamins, Minerals and Me” will take place at the Houssels Forum at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, located at 2801 Atlantic Avenue in Long Beach. Learn the effects of vitamins and how they can fit into your lifestyle from Todd Cancer Institute medical director Robert Nagourney, MD, who will discuss how vitamins and minerals are essential components of a well-designed cancer-prevention program. Bixby Knolls Strollers
On Saturday, April 5, the Bixby Knolls Strollers will take a stroll through Rancho Los Cerritos. Neighbors of the Rancho organization have made arrangements to open the gates to the property so strollers can enjoy the gardens and entire property as part of their 3.5-mile route. The group will meet at Starbucks at 7:15 a.m. and take off at 7:30 a.m. The public is welcome to walk and there is free coffee for all. For more information, call Blair at (562) 595-0081.

Church Concert Series
The Grace First Presbyterian Church continues its concert series with former Wings guitarist Laurence Juber Saturday, April 5 at 7:30 p.m. The free-will-donation concert will take place at the church’s sanctuary, located at 3955 Studebaker Road in Long Beach. Garden Tour

Learn about the history and botany of the gardens at Rancho Los Cerritos during a free tour of the garden Sunday, April 6 at 2:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy the Rancho’s adobe house, browse through the museum’s gift shop and purchase jam made with fruit harvested from the Rancho. SEADIP Meeting
Fifth District councilwoman Gerrie Schipske will host a public meeting Monday, April 7 that will be the last chance to submit comments on the South East Area Development Improvement Plan (SEADIP). SH Historical Society Meeting

Hearing Loss Support Group

The Long Beach/Lakewood Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association is having its monthly meeting Thursday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. Speaker Geoffrey Gaertner of the Disabled Resources Center, Inc. will speak on the challenges of hearing loss. Friends in Dance fundraiser

The Epilepsy Foundation is hosting a choreography showcase entitled Friends in Dance Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m. The dancers are a part of the Clifton Dance Project of Huntington Beach.
