Long Beach Memorial Audiology Service is having an open house and hearing screening clinic today from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Receive a free hearing screening test and stay for complimentary refreshments. WANA Meeting
The Wrigley Area Neighborhood Alliance ( WANA ) monthly general meeting will be held tonight at 7 p.m. at the Jackie Robinson Academy, located at 2750 Pine Avenue in Long Beach. Aquarium hosts ‘Sixth District Day’
Long Beach Councilman Dee Andrews and the Sixth District invites the public to join them for Sixth District Day at the Aquarium Friday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m. During that evening all residents of the Sixth District will be admitted into the Aquarium of the Pacific for free between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. The Aquarium of the Pacific is located at 100 Aquarium Way in Long Beach. Olive Court opens eco-conscious living
Livable Places and the City of Long Beach invite the public to come celebrate the grand opening of Olive Court and their 58 new eco-conscious homes Saturday, March 8 at 10 a.m. The event includes family entertainment, snacks and tours of the smart growth community. 1933 Earthquake memorial
The Long Beach Fire Department invites the public to remember the 75th anniversary of the Long Beach Earthquake Monday, Mar. 10 at 5:54 p.m., the same exact time the 6.4-magnitude earthquake began back in 1933. Dr. Lucy Jones from the U.S. Geological Survey will be speaking, as will other city leaders, in a panel discussion on the past, present and future of Long Beach and its state of preparedness. BK Literary Society Meeting
The Bixby Knolls Business Improvement Association is launching its new community book club, the Bixby Knolls Literary Society, Monday, Mar. 10 at 7 p.m. The Society will meet every month beginning on March 10, at Nino’s Italian Restaurant, located at 3853 Atlantic Avenue, at 7 p.m. to discuss a new selection. Let’s Talk Port
Residents are invited to learn more about the Port of Long Beach, ask questions and share ideas at “Let’s Talk Port,” a series of forums that makes its next stop at downtown Long Beach’s International Elementary School, located at 700 Locust Avenue, on Wednesday, March 12, at 7 p.m. The forums offer a convenient way for Long Beach residents to learn about the port.
